Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
